Routing and Transit information

Canadian routing numbers consist of an Institution Number, and the Transit Number

Routing Code Format: YYYYXXXXX

Institution Number = Y

Transit Number = X

If your account number includes the transit number i.e. XXXXX-123456

Make sure to only include the account number in the account number field and to use the Transit number in the Branch Id field using the format above.

Branch Id: 000101001 - 0001 being Institution # and 01001 being Transit #

Account Number: 123456

If the Institution Number is only 3 digits long, add a zero in the front.
Institution Number not included in your wire instructions? A simple search on the internet of "Institution Number for <your swift/bic>" should find the institution number for you.
